About Virtual Meetings
We use Google Classrooms as the platform for our virtual meetings.
Only Google pack account holders will be able to join meetings (your regular Google account won’t work). At this time, registered scout and scout leader has been issued their own Google pack account. Parents and volunteers are not issued accounts. You should have received your account information by email. If you do not have an account or don’t know your username, contact the Cubmaster.
If your scout has been attending meetings but not yet officially registered and paid dues, they will not have an account. Contact your den leader asap for assistance.
Registering for Meetings (one-time process)
Once you’re logged in, you’ll have to add your meetings (called Classes in Google Classrooms). Here are instructions on how to join Google classes using a code.
Once you have registered for your meetings, test it out by clicking on the Pack Meeting. That will bring you to the Pack Meeting stream. This is where the pack meeting will begin on 4th Sundays at 4 pm. You’ll see a Google Meet video link in the classroom page header. Click on it. If a Google Meet room pops up, you’re golden! If not, uh-oh. Let the Cubmaster know right away.
It would be a good idea to set up your account and give it a whirl well before the meeting on Sunday to make sure everything is working properly.
Conflicts with Other Google Accounts
If you’re already logged into a different Google account in your browser, that account may interfere with your ability to use your pack credentials. This is easily solved by opening a private (or incognito) window in your browser and logging in with your pack account credentials from there instead.
