Hello, Pack Parents!
I hope you’re all surviving being locked inside 24-7 with your children! I’m miraculously still alive, but my wife’s been missing for a few days now…
As we continue our Cub Scout program via video and at home, our Scouts continue to advance – earning their badges and belt loops in anticipation of a rank increase in late spring or early summer. Meanwhile, in lieu of receiving actual belt loops, your Scout will be able to see and track what they’ve earned using Scoutbook, the BSA’s advancement tracking website. Scoutbook displays your Scout’s actual awards as well as tracks how far they have progressed towards their rank and lets you know what’s left to be done. It’s fairly easy to use and very mobile friendly. Your den leader is your Scoutbook admin.
The address for Scoutbook is http://www.scoutbook.com. On the landing page, only click the button that says LOGIN. You will see other buttons, but those are all traps set by the BSA. LOGIN is the only button you want. Also, don’t be tricked into downloading any Scouting apps for Android or iPhone – also traps.
- You’ll use my.Scouting credentials to log on.
- If you don’t have my.Scouting credentials, visit http://my.scouting.org and sign up.
- If you can’t log on using your my.Scouting credentials, email me directly because I’ll need to attach your account to your scout’s account from my end.
The first time you log onto Scoutbook, compare all of the loops and badges that are shown in Scoutbook to the actual loops and badges currently on your scout’s uniform. If anything is missing, let your den leader know right away.
Let your den leader know if you have any questions about Scoutbook or need a quick primer. Also, please feel free to reach out to me directly if I can be of any assistance with anything Scout (or non-Scout) related. I’m available anytime by email or by phone/text to 4 4 3 – 2 7 1 – 4 5 7 6 .
Please stay safe and take care of your loved ones. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Yours in Scouting,
Cubmaster Matt
